Who we are
Hatch is operated from Denmark and is the data controller for the personal data processed through the app and this site. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@hatch-app.dk. Nordic Esports Group ApS
What we collect
- Account data you give us: email, display name, and profile details like bodyweight and training preferences.
- Training & nutrition data you log: workouts, sets, meals, recipes, mood and notes.
- Health & sensor data, with your permission: steps and workouts from Apple Health, plus heart-rate / HRV and sleep estimates captured by the app’s sensors.
- Payment data when you subscribe to Hatch+, handled by our payment provider (we don’t store full card details).
- Usage & diagnostic data: basic app analytics and crash reports to keep Hatch working.
How we use it
To run the app and give you what you came for: tracking, your Strength Score and ranks, the creature, the recovery score, and AI coaching. We process this data to provide the service you’ve asked for, to keep it secure, and to improve it. We do not sell your personal data.
Apple Health (HealthKit) data
Health data accessed via HealthKit is used only to power features inside Hatch, such as your activity rings and recovery score. In line with Apple’s rules, we never use Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never share it with third parties for their own purposes. You choose which Health data types to share and can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Third parties we share with
We rely on a small number of processors, each handling only what’s needed to run a specific feature:
- Paddle - payment processing and subscription management for Hatch+ (acts as merchant of record).
- Bunny - storage and delivery of images you upload, such as meal photos.
- ordbogen.ai - the AI provider that powers coach replies and photo meal analysis. Content you send to the coach is processed to generate a response.
Where your data lives & how long we keep it
Your data is stored on servers in the EU. We keep it for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data, except where we’re legally required to retain limited records (for example, payment records for tax purposes).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can, at any time:
- Access and get a copy of your data - the in-app “Export my data” gives you a full JSON export.
- Correct data that’s wrong.
- Delete your account and data - the in-app “Delete my account” does this.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent (e.g. revoke Health access).
- Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Denmark, Datatilsynet).
Children
Hatch is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
